The ABCs of LGBT - Brown

Author/Illustrator Willow C. Brown presents an alphabetical introduction to the LGBTQ+ community for parents and children. This alphabetical exploration provides parents with a way to discuss the LGBTQ+ community and the issues it faces with their children. Written to be read aloud to children as young as preschool age, the book is also enjoyable for older to children to read independently. Following the illustrated section for children, there is a guide for parents offering longer biographical information on the people featured, along with suggested additional readings for adults and children.
Willow C. Brown writes history for children, with the intention of introducing them to the under-represented, under-appreciated people who shaped the world. She holds master's degrees in both History and Gender Studies from UNCW. This is her second book, completed for her Gender Studies requirements.
