A timeless tool of cleansing, boundary-setting, and magical preparation, the Witch Besom is both sacred and practical. Traditionally crafted from natural woods and bristles, besoms are used to sweep away stagnant energy, prepare ritual space, and guard thresholds from unwanted influences. They are especially tied to the element of air and the transformative energy of the witch’s will.

Hung above doors, placed at altars, or used in ceremonial sweeping, the besom is a symbol of spiritual hygiene, protection, and movement between worlds.

Tradition & Lore:
In folklore, the besom is associated with witches flying—symbolizing astral travel and magical transformation. Besoms were also used to bless new homes, marriages, and harvests by "sweeping in" abundance and joy.
