Handcrafted Ancestral Offering Jar: Samhain

As the veil thins and we welcome in the spirits of our ancestors and loved ones on Samhain, it’s traditional to leave them offerings. Offerings are often deeply personal, but we don’t always have the time or supplies to make them in time for the holiday. Using wortcunning, I’ve taken the time to craft some Samhain ancestral offering jars for your altar or rituals. These jars are filled with intention for connecting to the spirit realm, with honey to help sweeten the lines of communication with the dead.
✨✨✨✨✨✨
In Shakespeare’s Hamlet he wrote, “There’s rosemary, that’s for remembrance; pray, love, remember” in turn, helping to solidify rosemary’s place as the quintessential herb for helping to bring in memories of your loved ones & signaling to the spirits that they’re not forgotten. In Celtic folklore, Hawthorn is a sacred tree closely tied to the veil, and their berries carry a protective and incredibly loving energy. Mugwort is a powerful plant with many uses, but here it serves to enhance intuition & communication while helping to further thin the veil between worlds. Cinnamon adds psychic protection, adds clarity to your prayers, aids in communication, and helps succeed in drawing in spiritual presence. Clove adds grounding and protection helping to bring forth benevolent spirits. Calendula honors your ancestors’ journey, and shines a beacon of light to illuminate the pathway for them to find their way to you, while also offering comfort to spirits who may still be grieving the life that they once had. And finally rose, which is an incredible flower that offers high vibrational unconditional loving energy, healing, gratitude and appreciation.
